NPE Offers Training and Support on Model Legislation

Every legislative season brings new attacks on our public schools. Last year, the Network for Public Education worked with grassroots groups opposing charter and voucher expansion. Working together, we often achieved success. This year we want to expand those efforts. Not only do we want to help our friends to oppose bad privatization legislation, but we also want to promote good legislation that reins in charter schools and voucher expansion. To that end, we will create model legislation for friendly legislators to promote.

If your group would like to join us in these efforts, we need to lay the groundwork now so that we will be ready to hit the ground running when the new legislative season begins. We will provide model bills and promotional materials. We will also meet with your team to develop resources to fight privatization bills when they come up. Resources will include letter campaigns, strategy sessions, model letters to the editor, and op-eds. Of course, all of these services will be free of charge.
