Carol Burris, executive director of the Network for Public Education and a fellow at the National Education Policy Center and co-author of the brief, said a constitutional line should be drawn.
“If you believe in the separation of church and state, then you don’t want religious charter schools,” Burris stressed. “If they are allowed, it will open up the door to all kinds of discrimination against students as well as faculty.”
