And now Columbia’s State newspaper reports on a whole new charter school scandal: One of the most controversial charter schools, Midlands-based athletic powerhouse Gray Collegiate Academy, is paying principal Brian Newsome an eye-popping $322,544 — which is more than any of the district superintendents in that region makes.
