Universal Companies to end its contracts with Daroff and Bluford charter schools after July 31
The fate of two Universal charter schools became murkier Tuesday, as a state board voted to uphold the Philadelphia school district’s decision to end its charter agreement with Daroff, and Universal Companies said it would no longer manage the school or Bluford charter after July 31.
WA charter school under audit for ‘improper receipt’ of state funding
The state’s charter school oversight agency said Impact Public Schools improperly received approximately $790,000 in state funds when it enrolled more than 60 four-year-olds in kindergarten.

The arrests of former International Baccalaureate teacher Priscilla Rosa Johnson, 56, of Longview, and former teacher’s aide Cynthia Denise Talley, 55, of Longview were the last involving a group of women who previously worked at the campus and who were indicted and charged in the investigation.
