Prompted by multiple announcements of sudden closure plans – in some cases just months after the Chicago Board of Education approved renewals – parents whose children attend publicly funded, privately-run charter schools such as EPIC and ChiArts will announce their formal request for a state investigation into the mismanagement and lack of oversight that is causing repeated disruptions in students’ educational experience.
