BISD Superintendent: Reject vouchers that harm public education
As the superintendent of Beaumont ISD, I want to express my strong opposition to the use of vouchers in the state of Texas. The concept of school vouchers may sound appealing on the surface, with proponents utilizing cleverly-designed advertising campaigns. These campaigns use verbiage deliberately chosen to produce positive connotations in order to promote what has ultimately been proven to be a false promise: A promise that has been shown to be misleading and disastrous for the children and communities in which it has already been implemented.
