School’s out forever. Columbia arts charter school closes amid budget and facility woes
The Midlands Arts Conservatory, an arts-focused charter school in Columbia, is shutting down, its board of directors announced June 9. The board voted June 8 to “deliberately phase down” the school’s operations because it only had funding to keep a balanced budget if it cut “essential” staff.
